Beaver Lake Middle School
Chorus Uniform Notice
October 31, 2007
Dear Chorus Members and Parents,
I hope you enjoyed our first concert of the year as much as I have enjoyed teaching my students. They certainly shined during our fall concert. I am looking forward to our future events and concerts.
As I mentioned in my previous notice, we have been in the process of acquiring a uniform for chorus members. Girls will be wearing a long indigo blue dress with trim in their school colors. Boys will be getting a tie to match the school colors in the girl’s dresses. The ties will go well with the black pants, white shirt, black belt, black shoes and socks that they wore to the fall concert (They looked GREAT…thanks for going the extra mile).
The cost of the dress is $60. The ties are $15. Although this might seem a bit of an expense for the uniform, please keep in mind that in previous years, families have spent this much or more acquiring black skirts and white tops for girls. Also, having a chorus uniform will make it much easier since you won’t have to shop for matching outfits. As this is my first year at BLMS and a uniform budget had not been in place prior to my coming, I’m asking everyone to join the team by helping us fund the chorus uniforms. Therefore, this year we are asking parents to pay for their own child’s uniform. Since we hope to use this uniform for the next few years, I’m working on an exchange system so that we can acquire a different size if needed next year. .
Please pay uniform fees by November 9 ($60/Girls and $15/Boys). Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need help paying this fee. No one will be denied a uniform. Make checks payable to Beaver Lake Middle School and earmark chorus uniform fee. Please pay at the bookkeeper’s window from 7:15AM-3:00PM
We are hoping that our dresses and ties arrive before our winter concert on December 13.
Remember that in addition to the dress that girls must wear:
Please take very good care of these dresses. Dresses can be washed in cold water on the delicate cycle. They can also be dried in the dryer on a low setting. They need to be clean and pressed (iron inside out on low heat) before each concert that requires our uniform.
Again, I am so proud of our students for an outstanding fall performance. I can’t wait for the winter concert!
Sincerely,
Tina Worthington (BLMS Chorus Teacher)
