Vocabulary

Weekly Instructions

This vocabulary packet will be collected on Friday.  Each section must be completed on notebook paper with a proper heading on the day it is assigned and will be checked in class the next day. A vocabulary test including spelling, part-of-speech and definition will be given on Friday for the weekly list of words.

Part One: Monday

Write each vocabulary word and use the dictionary to write the definition and part-of-speech for each word. Skip two lines after each vocabulary word. The list changes weekly.

Part Two: Tuesday

Write the definition from the “Word List” given to you in class underneath the definition you found on your own. Highlight the definition given to you in class. This will be the definition and part-of-speech you will be tested on.

On a separate sheet of paper write a complete sentence for each word. The meaning of the word should be included in the sentence. Underline the vocabulary word.

Part Three: Wednesday

On a separate sheet of paper write five additional words that contain the same root word.

Write each vocabulary word five times each.

Part Four: Thursday

Study the vocabulary words, definitions and parts-of-speech for the test on Friday.

Additional Work:

Do you have an additional packet of work for this week?

3.  You must cite your sources.

4.  Do NOT use Wikipedia!

5.  No typing!
