"The most important thing I look for in a musician is whether he knows how to listen." -- Duke Ellington

Advanced Chorus provides 7th and 8th grade students the opportunity to build musicianship skills through singing.  Students demonstrate proficiency in note and rhythm reading, sight singing, dictation, singing in unison and in parts, and guided composition.  Vocal Production and Performance are emphasized and students have a working knowledge of appropriate tone, intonation, vowel formation, diction, resonance and musical interpretation.  Students are familiar with the historical progression of  Western Music.  Through music, students experience other cultures and other languages.  Students are privileged to represent BLMS at 6-12 performances throughout the school year.
