Hi Eighth Graders! Having learned about all of you in my classes lately, there is some information you might want to know about me. * This is my tenth year at Beaver Lake. Before coming here I was teaching 6th grade at Pine Lake. I have also taught at Sunset, Discovery, and two different middle schools in the Shoreline District. * I have two dogs; both are Pomeranians - one named Bandit, the other is Kodi. * I have two daughters. One works at Children's Hospital in Seattle in the ED and the youngest is attending Nursing School at Washington State University in Spokane, WA. GO COUGS! * My favorite activities are traveling- I have been to Mexico, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and the Caribbean. I love reading a good book while cuddling with my dogs. * I also have a fondness for pigs. There is a special story behind this that I would be happy to share with you - just ask me sometime. * My favorite foods are very, dark chocolate, lobster tail with lots of melted butter, and I like Starbuck's soy lattes. *This is my 29th year of teaching. I love kids and I love to see them learn responsibility and self- empowerment. If it seems as though I am strict... I am. I take my job very seriously. I want you to be ready to move on to the next step after leaving my classroom. Feel free to talk to me about concerns you are having. I like parents, but I like students more!! :-) *This is your last year of "practice" before moving on to high school. My hope for all of you is that you will be proactive learners, dig in and get ready for the next step! |
