Math Help

Your child will have assignments 3-4 times a week. Sometimes these assignments will need to be completed at home. It should take 20-40 minutes to complete. Please contact me if your child is consistently spending more than 40 minutes to complete assignments. Most assignments are done in your child's math binder on notebook paper and corrected the next day in class.

Daily starter activities give practice on computation and understanding written directions. The starter activities are due by Friday of the week they are assigned to receive credit.

Starter activities are turned in to the period basket for each class. Assignments from the book are corrected in class, then kept in the student's math binder. They are used for Assignment Checks and collected at the completion of each booklet. (Approximately 7 times per school year.)

Assignments in the math booklet will be corrected and/or collected at the beginning of class so they must be finished before coming to class.

Late work will not be accepted except for excused absences.

Assignments are listed on the front board every day, the weekly board at the back of the room for the entire week, and the monthly calendar for the entire month. Assignments should also be listed daily in your child's planner. We take time each day in class to fill in the planner so the daily assignments should be listed in the planner. If your child forgot to write in their planner or if they have forgotten their planner at school have them call a friend who has me for math to get the assignment or check to see if the daily assignment has been updated on the website.

If your child is absent, when they return to school they need to check the assignments listed on the weekly or monthly board and collect any worksheets from the daily folders. They may also check my planner where I keep a record of the daily assignments.
