Dear Parent/Guardian,

As part of the Technology program at Beaver Lake Middle School, your child will have the opportunity to operate various types hand tools and machines within the lab. I wish to emphasize that before your child is allowed to operate any tool, he/she will have to prepare themselves by gaining knowledge of the operation and safety rules of each tool/machine by the way of reading, writing and observation of the demonstrations provided by the instructor. The students operating procedures will checked by the instructor and will be provided with the best possible supervision while in the lab.

Safety is stressed in all areas of Technology Education, as well as throughout the school. I have an excellent safety record for the past 29 years and would appreciate that you stress to your child the importance of acting in a safe and mature manner while at school and especially in the Technology Lab.

In order for us to have awareness that you know your child will be using tools and machines, we must have your consent before allowing your child to use the equipment.
