1. Obtain a whistle blank |

2. Using a vise, sharp pencil & ruler; mark for the
2 drill centers. Be extremely accurate. |

|
3. Using the bench vise and hand drill;
drill two 1/8 diameter pilot holes about a 1/2 deep. |

4. Using the drill press and a hand screw
clamp, drill two 7/16 holes as deep as you can. Back out frequently. |

|
5. Have Mr. Ford drill one hole deeper for you. |

6. Using the sample, trace the smaller V cut on
your whistle.
Get permission to cut the V cut.
Leave the lines; you can always make the cut bigger. You can never make
the cut smaller. |

7. Get permission to cut 2 one inch
whistle reeds. Put the extra reed material back on the shelves for the
next person. |

8. Have Mr. Ford sand them for you at the required
angle. |

|
9. Test the placement of the reeds. See the sample
for proper placement. |
|
|
10. Glue the reeds in at the end of the period. |

|
|
11. Sand the mouth end of the whistle to fit your
mouth. |

|
|
12. Sand with 100 150 220. |

|
13. Get final approval to oil. |

|
14. Blow the whistle for Mr. Ford & get checked off
for credit. |
