Directed Exploratory - Industrial Technology 6th 

Welcome to Directed Exploratory - Industrial Technology 6th. In this 60 day course you will learn how to manipulate drafting tools while completing assignments on orthographic projection, oblique, isometric and perspective drawings. Next we will design & build a geometric mobile to learn stretch-out pattern making. The Paper Car Challenge will reinforce the drafting skills learned while incorporating a problem solving model.  Introduction to Woodworking & Metalworking will also be included in the course. Projects include a Pen holder, CD holderMaple Whistle and Train Whistle made from wood and a  knick knack holder from sheet metal. Emphasis on safety will be stressed. The final unit of study will be electronics. students will build simple electronic circuits and learn about components.

Grading

    Projects 70%           Written work 10%       Participation & Life skills 20%

General Expectations

* Enter the room in an orderly manner. Be on time!

* Go directly to your assigned seat and wait for roll and instructions.

* Treat everyone in the room with respect.

* Display pride in your written work as well as your projects.

* Treat the room, tools and equipment with care.

* Always think SAFETY!

* Keep the room and lab clean, neat and tidy. Do your part, help

   each other.

* The teacher will dismiss you after the lab is clean. Do not crowd the exit.

Lab Fee

A lab fee of $7.00 is required to cover the costs of the materials being used. Make checks payable to BLMS and bring it to the bookkeeper.
