September 17, 2008: Read the Hurricane Ike article ("Rescues Continue in Texas; Millions Without Power") and answer "After the Storm" questions on the last page. Please use complete sentences. This assignment is due on Friday (9/19/2008).

September 15, 2008: Read "What is a Vortex?" (pgs. 18-19) and "That's a Fact: An Introduction to Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, and Hurricanes" (pgs. 20-25). Complete Student Sheet 2.1: Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, and Hurricanes. This assignment is due on Wednesday (9/17/2008).

September 10, 2008: Read "How Scientists Study the Earth" on pgs. 6-7. Select one type of scientist and make a list of three questions that you would ask him or her.

September 8, 2008: If you did not finish the Lab Safety questions in class, please finish them at home. This assignment is due on Wednesday (9/10/2008).

September 4, 2008: Parent signature forms (attached to syllabus) are due on September 10, 2008 (Wednesday). Students also need to have a lab journal/notebook by September 8, 2008 (Monday).
