Year-long question to ponder-  How did our "Global Village" come to be and how are we linked to it and impact it?  What are the principals and philosophy that create the identity of our country?  How did they evolve, devolve, who were the people who worked to make them happen?  Who were granted and denied these ideals/philosophy throughout history?  How has the American Identity changed throughout our history? 

We will also have specific unit themes to accompany the year long questions named above. 

Unit I-  The Big Picture Today! 

How does the U.S. experience compare with other nations today?  How did the U.S. get to this place?

Assessment:  Quiz over terms historians (that's you) use when researching and studying history.  

Unit II-  Colonization 

 I.)  Why do nations colonize?  Who benefits?  
II.)  How did slavery begin in this country?

Unit III-  Events to Revolution! 

I.) Why does the government tax citizens?
II.) Why did the Colonists revolt against their Mother Country?
III.)  Is rebellion against a government ever justified?  

Unit IV-  Revolution

I.) What factors influence war?
II.) What were pivotal events that lead to the victory of colonists over Britain?
