Humanities Plus Academic Alert

Please visit this link to review the district's academic probation policy for the Humanities Plus Program.

Late Homework: The 6th grade team has a "No Late Work" policy. In order to help students make the transition into middle school we give out some "Late HW Passes". First trimester students will receive  two late passes to use; second trimester students will get one pass; third trimester there will be no passes offered. Our hope is that by the third trimester, students will not have a need for a late homework pass.
"No Name" Papers: First trimester "no name" papers will be hung under the homework board. Students will be responsible for claiming these papers and turning them in. First trimester the "no name" papers will receive the original grade. Second trimester these papers will be hung under the homework board and will need to be claimed by the student. These papers will receive half of the original score. Third trimester "no names" will be placed into a file. Students are welcome to look through the folder to find "missing" assignments, however, these papers will remain a "zero" in the grade book. Again, we are here to help with the transition into middle school while at the same time teaching responsibility and time management.
Absence: Students will have as many days as they were absent to complete missed work. Each student has a "homework buddy" who will record the work missed for the day but it is ultimately the absent student's responsibility to get all work made up. Students should use their homework buddy to get missed notes, check the homework board to verify any missed work and talk to me to have any questions answered.

***We understand that "life happens". When problems arise, students should come talk to their teacher! We are here to help and work together to make this a fun and successful year!
