Classroom Expectations:

This classroom is a community that is rooted in three basic principles, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, and BE SUCCESSFUL.

To help us achieve these goals, here is a list of classroom expectations:

bulletCome to class on time and be prepared with the necessary supplies (planner, pencil, pen, paper, notebook, PR book, textbook, homework).
bulletBe ready to listen, think, share and respond.
bulletWait to be acknowledged before speaking-this means raising your hand.
bulletComplete all work in and out of class. Turn in all work on time.
bulletBe friendly, kind helpful cooperative, encouraging and positive at all times.
bulletRespect others' thoughts and ideas. Become a good listener!
bulletIf you do not understand something, it is up to you to ask for assistance. (The teacher cannot read minds.)
bulletTake pride in yourself and our classroom and always do your personal best.

We all must have appropriate sense of humor!

Do your best and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Homework:

There will be homework most evenings. Homework is reviewed daily and is written on the white board in class. You are responsible for writing in you planner.

bullet

All homework must have an appropriate heading which includes: Student name, Subject & Period, Date, and Name of Assignment.

bullet

All final drafts need to be word-processed with 12 point , Times New Roman font, 1 inch top and bottom margin and 1.25 inch side margins.

bullet

Assignments with spiral ruffles will not be excepted.

bullet

Remember to indent when starting a new paragraph.

bullet

Review all work before turning it in to check for spelling and grammar errors.

bullet

If an assignment has been required to be typed and your printer runs out of ink you will need to come to school early or find another printer.  In other words, your assignment still must be turned in on time.

bullet

Homework turned in late will receive half credit ONLY if it is given to the teacher the next day.  Students can use their homework coupons for full credit if it is given to the teacher the next day.

Absences:

If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to determine what assignments you missed by looking at the Homework Calendar which is located above the Absent Work File Folder. Extra copies of in class assignment will be filed by date in the file folder.

You have one day for every day you are absent to get work turned in.  This does not include major projects, which need to be turned in on there assigned due dates, NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you miss a test then it becomes your responsibility to see me and set up a time to make-up the test.

It is your responsibility to turn in work on time and make arrangements with me to make up a quiz or exam.  (For more information on absences, see the “Welcome Back to BLMS” Humanities packet given at the beginning of the year.)
